Things that were awesome in February

February is always a real shit month.
February makes you think that it's almost spring one day, then kicks you in the balls the next. I fucking hate a useless "R." Groundhog Day has just become so goddamn commercial. Valentines day is stupid.
February's only redeeming quality, really, is the 2-3 days that it should be February, but isnt.

Here are some things that made the month a little more tolerable:

1. Jim O'Rourke - All Downhill From Here
-I've been digging through his catalog for a few months now. A great song from Insignificance.
2. Sonic Youth - Rain on Tin
-Sonic Youth's Marquee Moon. Jim O'Rourke on bass.
3. At The Drive In - Hulahoop Wounds
-A song I've often overlooked whenever I bust out In Casino Out, but one of their best.

4-5 Joan of Arc - (I'm 5 Senses) None of Them Common
Owls - Anyone Can Have A Good Time
-Sometimes you need an irritating voice to get you through the day. Joan of Arc's Live From Chicago 1999 is a very underrated album.

6. Shellac - Canada
-Spend some time with Teraform, you'll enjoy yourself.
7. Kalas - Frozen Suns
-A Matt Pike from Sleep/High On Fire side project. The album cover (and music to an extent) reminds me of the NES game Karnov for some reason, and I love it!

8. Fugazi - And the Same
-Not their best, but someone played it on a jukebox at the bar one night and I was reminded how much it ruled.
9. The Fucking Champs - Earthen Sculptor
-The Fucking Champs write the best soundtracks to the best Nintendo games that never existed.
10. Dead Meadow - Untitled
-After a few bowls smoked out of a makeshift applepipe. From Feathers

11-12 Mercury Rev - Something for Joey
Do Make Think Say - in mind
-Provided a fine soundtrack for my bus trip to New York City.

13. Shalamar - The Second Time Around
-I came across this at work while editing an American Top 40 from 1980. Everything about this song is awesome..right down to the album cover:
